Two Christmas cards 2018

Kuva
This year I only made two Christmas cards. Same theme as last year (reindeer). I used old book pages for the silhouettes. The black paper is also from a book.     Merry Christmas to everybody 😊

For notebook covers

Notebook one: Before/front  Notebook one: Before/back  Here are two notebook cover-ups, which I have made quite recently. As materials for the first notebook, I used a paper gift bag to cover the old original cover. I also added an elastic band plus the metal ring from another old notebook. I really liked the pattern on the paper bag, even though it looks a bit confusing but the colors were nice. As the material for the second notebook, I used a bit of gift paper, which I had saved.  (If you have some nice looking gift paper as left over you could use it to decorate or cover a notebook.) I used this to add a final touch for both of the notebooks.

Two pairs of earrings

Here are two pairs of earrings, which I made last week. I bought those little mix tape decorations a few years ago, I found them quite recently so I decided to make earrings. I got those owl earrings, from a friend and I wanted to try to make a pair of earrings adding some small beads.

Two paper cuts

This paper card rose I made from an old book page. I made this card to a friend of mine. I had a simple boring looking card board folder and I wanted to decorate it. So I made a paper butterfly for it. The material was a piace from an old crafting magazine template sheet.

Test project with book covers

Kuva
Here are two projects which I have made recently. I found the tutorial from a Finnish crafting magazine. For the pocket material with the blue covered book, I used twelve sheets of scrapbook paper. I tried to use regular tape for the pockets, but it wasn't a great idea, so I used duck tape to keep the pockets in place. I used scrapbooking paper for the inside of the covers so they would look nicer.  This blue one is half recycled. As for the purple one I used those sheets which you use to organize your folders. (these seemed that they were made of some kind of plastic). I used hot glue to keep the pockets in place and that seemed to be working.  The second one is fully recycled.

Teddy card

Here is a birthday card which I have made for my friend.  I made this card last month. I also wanted to add a face,so it would not look so empty. Yes and it needed a small birthday hat because it was a birthday card. 😀 He liked this card.  I think that these simple paper cutting cards are quite relaxing to make.

What I have made recently

Kuva
Here are few projects which I have made during this month. This first cat card I made as a birthday card. Those two similar looking cards I made for Mother's day (one for my mother and the other for my grandmother.) I usually use old book pages for my paper cutting projects, but this time I used a tourist map. I found tutorial for that bead flower from a Finnish crafting magazine,it seemed quite easy which it was, maybe I will make few more of these flowers... (I will add here the name+number of the magazine when I find it). Those two pairs of earrings are new,I made them last Friday. I used some old materials for these earrings. The pink one are my favourite ones.

Two map birds

Kuva
Here are two paper cut bird/swan cards which I made during this evening.  I had saved some random maps so this time I used map (I usually use old book pages) as the main material and card stock as side material.

Another loom knit scarf

Kuva
Here is another scarf which I have finished quite recently. I made this for myself. For the yarn I used Marino soft. I really love the colors of this yarn.  I used one ball of this yarn.

Pink fabric

Here is a pencase/bag which I made during last Saturday, unforfunately while I was sewing this I managed to broke my sewing machine a bit. 😅 But luckily my boyfriend also has a sewing machine so I managed to finish this bag. I got the fabric from my aunt. I shortened both of those zippers, they were a bit too long for this project. I wanted this bag to have a pocket for my smaller pens.

Upcycled shirt/Shirts part three

Kuva
Here is the other shirt which I bought from the fleamarket. This upcycling project I made during this week. The shirt's original buttons were unpractical,so I sewed different buttons for their place,I used the buttons of the beige shirt from the bunny project. When I started this project I noticed that the other pocket was a bit of torn. So, I tried to fix the problem with a bit of thin denim fabric,by sewing two pieces of that extra denim for the place of the pockects. I know that they are not symmetricly sewn into place, but I tried. I probably wear this shirt something with long sleeves. But in the end I'm quite happy how it looks despite the small flaws. (Maybe at some point I will try to fix it a bit).

Vest/Shirts part two

Kuva
I bought this shirt from a fleamarket last year. I also bought another shirt as well (I'll write about that on the next post). Anyway, I used this shirt as a material for a vest.  I used the shirt's  own buttons and button holes for this,so I didn't have to sew any buttons or other.  I finished sewing this vest yesterday. I had vest pattern, which I had saved a long time ago.  Sewing of the vest was quite easy. I really like the end result.

Weekend earrings

Kuva
Here are few pairs of earrings which I made during last weeks Saturday. My favorite pairs are probably those lace ones and those with the skull beads.  With the skull earrings I used my favorite kind of beads (the skulls) and I also added old diary keys in the end of them. The wooden "beads" on the second one are actually from an old boad game. The buttons on the last pair are from the shirt which I used to make a bunny.

A necklace and a pair of earrings

Kuva
Here are a pair of earrings and a necklace which I made during the weekend. As the material I have used  few pieces of a lace tablecloth, thin metal wire to connect those pieces together and I also used few beads from an old necklace which I had bought from a flea market long time ago.
